Old fashioned kitchen with a wood-burning stove / oven dating from the early 1900s.
Notice the hard packed dirt floor.

This photo was taken at the Leonis Adobe Museum in Calabasas California.

It's really amazing how kitchens have changed over the years ... I have no clue as to what some of the utensils are even used for, but I still have that problem today too!!  Good capture and vantage point Lori!!  ~Lee :D

Wow, was this in your grandparents house? Cooking must take on an entirely new meaning when having to do it on something this old! :)

No my house - I'm old hehe. It was an old cottage (1600's) - an alms house connected to a small church - this was 35 years ago - I didn't have a washer or a kitchen really - just a sink and 2 cupboards and a small fridge and my wonderful stove. Every morning I used to bake bread in it (especially when there was snow outside) it was wonderful for proving and cooking bread. Getting the coal to fill it though was a bit of a pain - use to have to go down into the cellar to get it :D
